Brendan James Live at The Rhythm Room 6/16/10

Brendan James Live at The Rhythm Room 6/16/10

Green-Brendan James (video) Brendan is amazing live! Just his sound check was great. His piano skills are incomparable and his voice is so mellow and engaging. His fingers are moving so fast it’s hard to see or even believe . It’s good to see he has new material and from what I have heard it sounds great. His new songs are upbeat and catchy, the few I’ve heard have been stuck in my head for days. Here’s your chance to hear something from Brendan’s new CD which is coming out Sept. 7th. Ernie Halter and Tony Lucca Live at the Rhythm Room 7/26/10

Ernie Halter and Tony Lucca Live at the Rhythm Room 7/26/10

After an opening by Tobie Milford and the Nameless Prophets, Ernie and Tony came out and proved themselves to be really great performers. They had many hilarious anecdotes involving interesting acquaintances and sub-par hotels, very technical guitar and ukulele parts, and entertaining additions to a few of their songs that tested their lung capacity. They played a couple Eagles and Baby Bash cover with some small twists that would leave you thinking it was an original. Along with being supportive of newer artists, they were more than willing...

Ten Dollar Outfit Live at the Compound Grill 9/2/10

Ten Dollar Outfit Live at the Compound Grill 9/2/10

It’s not everyday that you stumble upon a band with the talent of Ten Dollar Outfit. Brian, Kaleb, and Peter looked like they were having fun as they played off of each other all night long. The short on-stage conversation between the band members seemed to frequently end in“Let’s play this with a twist.” At one point there was a seamless transition between a TDO original, and “Stir It Up” by Bob Marley. Ten Dollar Outfit makes the most of a 3-piece ensemble, with Kaleb doubling up on both drums and an electronic percussion board, and Peter...

Martin Storrow (Jakob Martin)- Live at The Jardine-Robson Ranch

Martin Storrow (Jakob Martin)- Live at The Jardine-Robson Ranch

The enthusiastic opening performed by Jay Allan was a great start to the night. Having said that, I must say Jakob Martin’s follow up was better than great. His piano playing was spot-on, his vocals were insanely good, and his harmonica parts were an effective addition to his performance. Jakob Martin’s performance was one of those rare occasions that gives the audience a whole new perspective and respect for musicians. When the musician is having a good time, so is the audience. When you see an artist that love their job as much as Martin...
